Pranabes Chandra’s film
Char Diker Golpo was recently screened at the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute in the presence of the cast and crew.
Structured around a train journey from Howrah to North Bengal, the film follows two co-passengers—played by Samadarshi Dutta and Indrashis Acharya—who begin exchanging stories. Four narratives emerge: an artist facing failure, an idol-maker whose success remains unseen, a man compromising with injustice for survival, and another who must sacrifice personal desires for a greater duty. Together, they form a simple yet thoughtful reflection on life’s many sides.
The film has been screened and awarded at several international festivals. "I hopes audiences will connect with its honesty and simplicity of the film," said the director.
