Celebs to get real on Bengali TV

For the first time, Bengali television is all set to see city celebs getting ���������real���������, engaged in competitive tasks in a rural setting.
It���������s time for you to get the ���������real��������� picture on Bengali television. What���������s so ���������real��������� about it, you ask? For a change, viewers will get to see familiar faces on the telly, slog it out in a village, engaging themselves in competitive tasks in a rural setting.
Producer of the show (which would be titled, ���������Challenge���������), Kaustav Roy says, ���������We are planning such a programme with 12 celebrities which include Swastika Mukherjee, Silajit, Locket Chatterjee, Kanchana Moitra, Arindam Sil, Arijit Dutta, Bratya Basu, Sujoy Prasad, Riddhi Barua, Sujoy Prasad Chatterjee. Sampurna Lahiri and others. As of now, we have got verbal confirmation from them. We will be keeping the contestants in a rural set-up and giving them tasks.��������� He further adds that if all goes as planned, there will be a mega launch of the show.
Giving the details of the show, co-producer Nitesh Sharma explains, ���������The creative director is Samiran Dutta, while the technical director is Swagato Choudhury. There will be hidden cameras but not focussed on them 24x7. The contestants will be caught on camera for as long as they are on their tasks. The villagers will be rating them on their performance.���������
Kanchan Mullick has been roped in to anchor the show. ���������I have been approached for this programme, which, I think, will be a first for Bengali television. I am trying to adjust my dates with this production as I have other commitments. I would love to do the show,��������� says the actor.
Kanchana is super excited to have bagged her first reality show. ���������The best part is that unlike other reality shows, this won���������t be scripted. It will be a litmus test for all of us as we have to stay in an environment without any connectivity. It is a test of how well we adapt to such a surrounding,��������� she says, adding, ���������I have no mask on as an actor. So, I am pretty chilled out about it all. It is more of a challenge for me to find out if I can perform the tasks well. In fact, I see it as the best time to find out who is my real friend.���������
Arindam Sil too is looking forward to spending some quality time with colleagues and friends. ���������The unit was steadfast that I come on board. Luckily, my work pressure is less now and I found the concept challenging,��������� he explains and adds, ���������As for apprehensions, I have seen much in life and know where to keep quiet. That apart, tasks won���������t be a problem. Don���������t be fooled by my shape and size for I am flexible and fit.���������
Swastika confirms that she is yet to give her nod to the project. But Sampurna has already confirmed her presence. ���������I am excited that I will get to spend some quality time with people whom I have seen on the screen for so long,��������� she adds.
The moment Locket heard the concept, she was eager to be a part of it. ���������My only hitch are the bulk dates that the show requires. Because of my prior assignments, I need to work things out around that,��������� says the actor.
