After the launch of Times Food Guide Kolkata 2015 and the feting of the best in the business at Times Food Awards, guests indulged in the finest culinary delights served by the award-winning eateries. Why not? Monday night was all about fun, frolic, camaraderie, laughter... but above all, food.
The winners too were successful in enticing the star guests with the massive spread on offer.
We thank the food connoisseurs of Kolkata for the awards won by Dum Pukht, West View Bar & Grill and Pan Asian. Food & beverage have always been the soul of this hotel and with our six internationally acclaimed cuisine brands, we offer the city the globe's finest Indian & India's finest global cuisine," said Atul Bhalla, general manager, ITC Sonar.
The nattily dressed celebrities said bye to diet charts and lapped up the biryani, pasta, cupcakes and mousses on offer. Veteran filmmaker Buddhadeb Dasgupta said, This is the first time I was at this party and I enjoyed myself." Mainak Bhaumik added, This is what a party is all about. What a way to kickstart the year!" Mumtaz Sorcar agreed, This is the best gift that TOI can give us Bengalis. There is no party like this in Kolkata. I'm sure nobody will think of their diet, but indulge in the best of food."
And true that was. Fitness freak Tota Roychoudhury, who watches every morsel that he eats, indulged in desserts, especially makha sandesh.
Long after the party was over, the guests were discussing Mirisms. Sample this. Mir asked both Sandip Ray and Anjan Dutt to play a tug-of-war with Abir Chatterjee on stage. He also poked fun at Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury's paunch, to which the director replied, 'Bhudi nazar wale, tera munh....' He also announced Kaushik Ganguly's new project after
Khaad -'Khaddo' -the shooting for which began at the venue itself!
