Celebrating Big B’s 50 years in the industry through a calendar launch in city

Kolkata is all set to host a unique calendar launch today ‘Fantastic 50’ to celebrate Amitabh Bachchan’s 50 glorious years in the film industry. The calendar will feature 50 posters of Big B’s films. On February 15, 1969 Amitabh Bachchan signed his debut film which released on November 7 in the same year. To mark the occasion this special calendar has been planned. A few days ago Amitabh Bachchan wrote on his Twitter handle "49 years ago I came to the city of dreams and signed my first film .. "

Noted film poster collector Sudipta Chanda who hosted a unique exhibition Bachchan Nama to celebrate Amitabh Bachchan's 75th birthday last year at Jamini Roy Art Gallery ( ICCR ) that had more than 50 odd original posters of his films , has conceived and contributed photographs for this unique calendar as well. He has been collecting film posters since his college days and still collects old film posters and has more than 1,200 titles in his collection.

, Sanjog, Bandhe Haath, Adalat, Kasauti and others. Each of the months in the calendar carries three posters of Bachchan’s films while it’s cover showcases fourteen posters. It also features poster of one of his recent releases, 102 Not Out (2018).
Sudipta Chanda, the poster collector, said, “It’s a unique way to celebrate Big B’s glorious journey. This is also a tribute to the living legend from his fans in Bengal.”
