Camera starts rolling for Anjan Kanjilal’s ‘Sahobase’

Renowned theatre director and actor Anjan Kanjilal is all set to direct his first feature film. Stress, long working hours, hectic schedules have made the lives of Indian youth a little disoriented. That’s what Anjan tries to explore in his first feature film as a director. Young actress Ishaa Saha will play the lead opposite’Abyakto’ fame Anubhav Kanjilal.
Titled ‘Sahobase’, the cast also includes Saayoni Ghosh, Deboleena Dutta Mukherjee, Rahul Banerjee, Subhashish Mukherjee, Biswajit Chakraborty and Tulika Basu in pivotal roles.Camera rolled on for this slice of a life drama from today (May 27) and it will be shot in and around Kolkata.

The story revolves around the life of an unmarried couple who live together to find happiness and contentment from their relationship. However, as we get to know every chapter of their lives we realize that they are troubled with individual commitments, deception, arguments originating due to a generation gap between parents and their children. Anubhav and Ishaa will be seen as the live-in couple.

The slice-of-a-life drama simultaneously revolves around three other stories of an aged couple as they try to solve their parenting problem, a contrast of life between the maid and the owner of the house and a thirst of love that haunts a busy corporate girl. ‘Sahobase’ is the story of that insecure individual we all hide in ourselves.
While Subhashish and Tulika will be seen as Ishaa’s parents, Rahul Banerjee plays a poet. Saayoni Ghosh is the corporate girl here and the most interesting character is of Deboleena’s. She will be seen as the maid servant.
