Aneek Chaudhuri's film to be premiered in Vienna

Cactus, a film by Aneek Chaudhuri, will make its World Premiere in Reaktor Indian Film Festival of Vienna on March 24, 2019. According to the filmmaker, the film that is based on the personification of God, takes a call at the established Western traditions and comments on the art form Pieta by Michelangelo.
“Moreover, a woman is portraying the character of Jesus Christ — a character that is metaphoric to the pain of crucified Christ.In Cactus, the art form of The Last Supper has been discussed artistically where Jesus in her female avatar could be seen distributing pomegranate juice ion 12 glasses that symbolizes the different shapes and sizes of Jesus’ 12 disciples. This is a silent film with a transition among BC, Christ era and AD,” said the director.
This is Aneek’s third feature-length narrative film. His previous two feature films, White and The Wife’s Letter, have been screened at Cannes, Hamilton, Melbourne, Sydney and many other countries, and also garnered awards worldwide.
