Buddhadeb Dasgupta is back in the city

The Kolkata chapter of Buddhadeb Dasgupta���s 'Anwar Ka Ajab Kissa' began on Tuesday. And seems like, there���s rebonding of sorts on the set. After shooting with his Miss Lovely co-star Niharika Singh in Simultala, Nawazuddin Siddiqui is sharing screen space with Farrukh Jaffar, who was part of 'Peepli Live'. As part of the sequence, smalltime detective Anwar aka Farrukhnarkelnadusandesh���WearePeepliNawazuddinNiharikaBiharChingriMaachherMalaikari Niharika, who had a difficult sequence to shoot, heaved a sigh of relief once it got over. ���I had to remove my sari and blouse at a barren land. It was a tricky scene. But soon, locals from neighbouring villages gathered and I was scared that the scene would end up being a free show for all. Thankfully, it was a one-take okay. One wrong move would have scandalized all,��� she recalled. Niharika, who has done commercial ventures in the past, is happy doing different kinds of roles. ���I was a student of commerce and dropped out of college because I realized I wasn���t interested in commerce or business. But I see, a lot of mainstream filmmakers are into the business of cinema. All they want to make is a 100-crore product. I don���t want to get carried away by money and exposure. Often actresses start off with mainstream films and by the time they want to do interesting roles, they are old! I want to hold my ground and say, this is the time to do different stuff. I���m happy to have worked with Ashim Ahluwalia in BuddhodaBuddhadebDasguptaAshim About Nawazuddin, she said, ���Miss Lovely was his first film as the lead. He had come from NSD and was doing bit roles before that. I had my Miss India background. Though coming from different spaces, we gelled well. We didn���t have preconceived notions about each other and that created a comfort zone. I loved working with him in Anwar Ka Ajab Kissa.���
