It was a memorable day for Team Bohurupi as they paid a surprise visit to Tollywood’s dynamic duo, Raj Chakrabarty and Subhashree Ganguly. Shiboprosad, dressed as a traditional bohurupi artist and accompanied by Nanichora Das Baul, arrived at their home unannounced, catching the couple completely off guard. The reel and real-life bohurupi performers even delighted the family with a rendition of the popular rap from the film “
Haate Gelam, Bajare Gelam.”
Shiboprosad Mukherjee expressed his joy, saying, “Meeting Raj’s mother was the highlight for me. She watches Didi (Nandita Roy) and my films, and her blessing for
Bohurupi was incredibly special. They are such warm-hearted people, and I also had the chance to meet little Yuvaan. At first, he was a bit intimidated, but he quickly warmed up and started calling me ‘Bohurupi uncle.’”
Both Raj and Subhashree praised the trailer and songs from the film. In a heartfelt moment captured on video, Subhashree shared with Shiboprosad, “I love to show my children the things that were special to me as a child. My secret wish was for them to see a bohurupi, and thanks to you, that dream has come true.”
Raj joined in the festivities, even breaking into a dance with the team. He affectionately referred to Subhashree as “Burdwaner luchi,” a playful nod to her roots in Burdwan, a phrase that resonated with fans of the film.
