Kaushik Ganguly’s ‘

Bishorjon

’ earned rave reviews after its release. The film even won the National Award last year. However, the unique story of

Padma

and Nasir Ali did not end in that film. Director Kaushik Ganguly is ready to direct the sequel of the award-winning romantic drama. Titled as ‘

Bijaya

’, it will start from where ‘Bishorjon’ ended and will take the story forward.

Kaushik Ganguly himself will reprieve the role of Ganesh Mondol in ‘Bijaya’, while Abir Chatterjee and Jaya Ahsan will play Nasir and Padma once again. The mahurat of the same took place on Tuesday in the presence of Abir, Jaya Ahsan, Kaushik Ganguly and other cast and crews.

At the end of Durga Puja festival, after the immersion (bishorjan) of the idol, there is a Bengali tradition of Bijoya which is nothing but a celebration of the victory of Goddess Durga. ‘Bijoya’s concept is quite similar to that, just like the second part of a novel. In ‘Bisharjan’, there were so many questions that were left unanswered and this second installation will offer those answers.

Kaushik Ganguly has already confirmed the compositions of the late musician Kalikaprasad Bhattacharya, who orchestrated the music of the prequel, will be used in ‘Bijaya’. There will be a few extra inputs from music composer Indradip Dasgupta in the sequel.
