Bidula Bhattacharjee's next film is on unrequited love and breakups

, director Bidula Bhattacharjee shot her second film, Tasher Ghor, in the midst of this lockdown. The film depicts stories of unrequited love and breakups. The film shows how at times situations compel two persons to stay apart even though there is love between them.
Did you handle breakups in real life, we ask Bidula?“Oh yes, I did. I realised, with every breakup, I moved a bit higher up in life. Breakups made me stronger and more determined and focused. So most of the time I preferred not to be into any relationship, as they used to distract me from my work,” said the director.
Why did you plan to shoot in this

pandemic

and how difficult was it? “It was high time that I we start working, keeping the

new normal

in mind, as no one can predict when things will get better. Right from story building to searching location to characterisation, our first priority was to keep it simple, with minimum cast and crew. Barring the first story, all other stories have only two characters. Also shooting in this heat, wearing masks and hair caps was tough,” said the director.Elaborating on the storyline of the film, Bidula said, “At the end of the first story, Rohit Sen, (played by Rajeshwar), reads out stories from his newly published book, Tasher Ghor, to his childhood friend Rumi, (played by Ankita Chakraborty), where eventually three more stories unfold.”
Ankita, who played one of the pivotal characters in the film, said, “We shot for the film in July and it was a new experience to work in this new normal.”
