Bidipta Chakraborty back to work after Europe vacation

Bidipta Chakraborty is back to work today after a 17-day Europe tour. The actress, who came back to Kolkata at 4 am on Wednesday, took a break from the shoot of Alo Chaya as it was her daughter Ida’s birthday.
“I can’t explain the way Ida hugged me with a big smile when I came back home. It was four in the morning and she was awake to welcome me. It was her birthday and for few minutes, she was just hugging me tight.I planned the vacation in such a way that I could be back on her big day. Ida was so happy to see that we got her many gifts. Ida is a voracious reader and was happy to see the many books that Birsa (Dasgupta) and I got for her as birthday gifts. We celebrated Ida’s birthday with her school friends and relatives on Wednesday. She loves Tintin, so the cake we ordered was in keeping with that. The menu too was her favourite — Chinese,” said Bidipta, who got a bagful of chocolates from Paris for the two child actors of Alo Chaya. “I am very fond of the two kids and so I got chocolates for them,” said the actor.
Was Ida sad that her mother was not here during Durga Puja, we asked Bidipta. “Not at all. She had a gala time with her grandparents. I used to call her and Ida would tell me how many pandals she visited, what she had and how she enjoyed herself at Santiniketan. She was only concerned whether I would be back on her birthday or not,” said Bidipta with a smile.
