Bibriti to play a mermaid in Tathagata Mukherjee’s next

After Arindam Sil’s Byomkesh Gowtro, Bibriti Chatterjee is all set to play the lead in Tathagata Mukherjee’s film, Bhotbhoti. Rishab Basu plays the male lead. “After audition I bagged this role and I am happy to play the lead. I play Ariel, a mermaid and Bhootbooti (Rishab) is in love with her. The film is a love story between fire and water. I watched Tathagata da’s Watterbotle and liked it. What I loved about him is that he is very clear about what he wants from his cast. The way he narrates the story is amazing. I could literally see Ariel in front of my eyes. We all have grown up reading stories on mermaid and when you actually get a chance to play one it seems surreal,” said the model turned actor.

). “In Byomkesh Gowtro I played one of the characters. It was a film with ensemble cast. But in this film, the story revolves around my character and Bhotbhoti. I am really looking forward to this fairy tale of water and fire. While water signifies life, fire carries knowledge so both these two aspects get interpreted in this film,” said Bibriti.

The film is about what happens when Bhotbhoti a young boy comes across a mermaid in reality. The film has two sides- one is fantasy and the other side is the reality and how at the end of the film the two gets merged is to be seen.

Bhotbhoti is a love story which will star Mamata Shankar, Rajatava Dutta, Debleena Dutt Mukherjee, Lama Halder and others. The story is penned by the director while music of the film is composed by Mayookh Bhaumik.
