Bengali movies showing married life like never before

You may have heard of different experiences of marriage – happy, tragic, not-so-happy, and more. Such stories become more relatable once you’re married, in a relationship or planning to get into one. Whatever the situation, one thing is for sure – marriage is an emotional rollercoaster. Let’s take a look at these five Bengali movies that present the funny side of married life.

‘Bibaho Obhijaan’

Directed by Birsa Dasgupta and starring Ankush, Nusraat Faria. Rudranil Ghosh, Sohini Sarkar, Anirban Bhattacharya and Priyanka Sarkar in the lead, it’s a comedy caper involving two childhood friends Anupam (Ankush) and Rajat (Rudranil Ghosh) who decide to get married. Soon after they realise the consequences of a conjugal life. Thus starts their marital adventure or Bibaho Obhijaan, a roller-coaster laughter riot! It`s a playful tribute to the eternal `Tom & Jerry` bonding between husbands & wives!

'Bibaho Diaries'

Directed by Mainak Bhaumik, ‘Bibaho Diaries’ is a romantic comedy about what a couple today looks like under a microscope before and after marriage - an account of all the hilarious things that bind them together and create complications amidst the amusing clashes of age-old tradition and new-age ways.

‘Baccha Shoshur’

Directed by Biswaroop Biswas, ‘Baccha Shoshur’ revolves around Spandan (Jeet), a helpless father and his three year old son Gutlu, who is undergoing weird behavioural patterns, which only Spandan knows about. What follows is the mystery that changes everyone`s life.

'Hoichoi Unlimited'

Directed by Aniket Chattopadhyay, it’s a story of four men, all tired of their personal lives. They plan an escapade to Uzbekistan to bring back the fun in their lives. They decide to not tell their wives about the plan, who then begin to speculate about it. What follows is a roller-coaster ride involving mistaken identity, international mafia and a plane.

'Googly'

Directed by Abhimanyu Mukherjee, ‘Googly’ delves into the lives of Dali and Arjun, a couple suffering from a stammering problem. Their lives take an eventful turn after the birth of their son Googly, and what happens next forms the crux of the story.
