Bharat Kaul’s character look in Subhrajit Maitra’s upcoming magnum opus unveiled

Right from the time Devi Chowdhurani- Bandit Queen of Bengal was announced, the magnum opus is the talk of the town. After unveiling the looks of Bhabani Pathak and Devi Chowdhurani, the team has now released a new poster featuring Bharat Kaul on social media handles. Bharat will be seen playing the role of Majnu Shah, the leader of the Faqir rebellion. According to several scholars, this war was an early battle for India's independence, and Majnu was a part of many fights against the British East India Company with his pious team.
Speaking about his character, Bharat says, “Majnu and Bhabani Pathak are two real historical characters. I’ve always wanted to be a part of something very big. Majnu Shah and the entire concept are relevant in today’s time. In Devi Chowdhurani, there is a huge ensemble cast which is rare nowadays. Director Subhrajit Mitra has shown a lot of courage by choosing such a difficult subject and by dealing with it efficiently. As an actor, I am greedy and hungry to take on challenging characters.”
The period film is based on Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay’s novel of the same name and Srabanti will be playing the titular character while Prosenjit Chatterjee will be seen as Bhabani Pathak. The film also stars Arjun Chakraborty as Rangaraj and Sabyasachi Chakraborty as zamindar Haraballabh Roy. Darshana Banik, Bibriti Chatterjee, and Kinjal Nanda will also be seen in important roles.
