The recent incident of a Kashmiri Pandit being killed by militants in south Kashmir’s Shopian has kicked off a social media storm. Now, Tollywood actor Bharat Kaul who has always been vocal about Kashmiri Pandit issues has urged the central government to ensure the protection of Hindus in the Kashmir valley.
The seasoned actor who is also from Kashmir is worried about the security of Kashmiri Hindus and he couldn’t stay calm after hearing about the tragic death of Sunil Kumar. While Kashmiri Pandits serving in the Valley are holding protests against the killing of their community member in Shopian, Bharat can feel the pain of the community. He’s worried about the hundreds of Kashmir-posted Pandit employees and the fresh killing in the valley has made the veteran actor more concerned about the current scenario.
“It’s a fact that Kashmiri Hindus are not safe in Kashmir now. Over the last two years, many Kashmiri Pandits have been killed. Now, this has happened again. I think the central government should take strict action against this law and order situation. People won’t tolerate this terrorism for long,” said a heartbroken Bharat.
The popular actor who is also a Kashmiri Pandit by birth also added, “More than 5 thousand Kashmiri Pandits are posted in the valley. I think center should immediately transfer them to Jammu. Earlier in May Rahul Bhat was also killed just because he’s a Kashmiri Pandit.”
This is not the first time Bharat has shared his views on this pressing issue. Earlier when the critically acclaimed film ‘The Kashmir Files’ was released he had shared his concern for the Kashmiri Pandits trapped in the valley.
