Gargee was outstanding playing the character of Mahananda. Instead of mimicking the real-life character, the actress brought her own flourishes to the role, making her a delight to watch on screen.
Sharing her excitement after the latest recognition the actress said she wishes to share the honour with each member of the ‘Mahananda’ team and says the award is special since there were quite a few outstanding actresses who were nominated in the same category.

The seasoned actress had earlier admitted that this might become a milestone in her career: “It can be a milestone. That’s why I had to say yes to it. I have been in the industry for over two decades now, and for so many years, no one thought of such a character for me. The passionate energy of Mahasweta Devi is so invigorating.”
