Bengali film on ‘Blue Whale’ suicide game

Soon we will have a Bengali film on the infamous online game ‘Blue Whale’. Director Anirban Guha is all set to show us how this suicide game is destroying the young generation and its social impact. The team has already wrapped up shooting for the film and begun its post-production work.
Darsana Banik and Satrajit Sarkar are playing the lead roles in the film.Director Anirban is confident his film will help society counter this game and its deadly impact.

The game that ends with a person committing suicide was developed by a 22-year-old Russian nationalist Philipp Budeikin, who has been awarded a three-year jail sentence by a Siberian court for inciting Russian youths to kill themselves. Once the app is downloaded, the player will have to take on 50 dangerous and tasks daily which culminates in suicide. The disturbing tasks such as self-harming, watching horror movies, sleep deprivation is believed to brainwash participants over the 50 days of the game.
