Bengali film fraternity mourns Mrinal Sen’s death

It’s end of an era for not only Bengali film industry but also for Indian cinema. Mrinal Sen breathed his last on Sunday morning at his Bhawanipore apartment in Kolkata. He was 95. His wife Gita Sen passes away in 2017. Panning 30 years of critically acclaimed, award-winning movies, short films and documentaries, Mrinal Sen’s repertoire proved his resolute conviction that “a filmmaker needs to be an agent-provocateur; a person who disturbs the viewer and moves him to action”.

It’s a sad day for Bengal and Tollywood’s big names including Prosenjit chatterjee, Parambrata, Srijit Mukherji, Kaushik Ganguly paied their tribute to the legendary filmmaker as the entire film fraternity mourns Mrinal Sen’s demise.
