Filmmaker-screenwriter Basu Chatterjee, best known for directing films like Choti Si Baat, Rajnigandha and Baaton Baaton Mein, passed away in Mumbai today, following age-related ailments. Recalling his experiences of working with the filmmaker,
Prosenjit Chatterjee, said, “It was a great experience working with him in Hochcheta Ki?. What I liked most about Basuda’s films was that they were all content-driven and appealed to the audience across all age groups.
I also got an opportunity to interact with him, when I worked with his daughter, Rupali Guha, in Porichoi. I loved watching his films, like Choti Si Baat, Rajnigandha, Baaton Baaton Mein and many more. He was a sorted man. He knew exactly what he wanted from his cast. His films will keep entertaining us forever. Basuda gave a lot of freedom to his actors, which shows how confident he was about his actors. Rest in peace, Basuda.”
