I am proud to be an Indian: Bappi Lahiri
Bappi Lahiri had an unforgettable experience recently. The composer met President Ram Nath Kovind in presence of Home Minister Rajnath Singh at

Rashtrapati Bhavan

, where he was conferred with the 7th Bharat Ratna Dr Ambedkar Award for his legendary 48 years of musical work in both Bollywood and Hollywood.

“I have dedicated two of my CDs to Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Dr Ambedkar and feel honoured that I could do it. I presented the CDs to the President and the Home Minister,” said Bappi. Mahurat of the film Yug Purush Atal, which has music by Bappi, took place in the President’s presence. The composer is super-excited about releasing a single, Sing in harmony, on YouTube. “It’s in collaboration with a London-based musician. The song talks about religious harmony. I am proud to be an Indian and I am sure this song will touch a chord with Indians across the world. Yeh gaana maine dil se gaya, as I strongly feel that we are ONE.”
