The box office sweep of ‘Projapoti’ has made Avijit Sen every bit emotional. The houseful shows and positive reviews have made him speechless. The filmmaker who made his debut with ‘Tonic’ still can’t believe that ‘Projapoti’ has indeed struck the box office bull’s eye and for this he’s thankful to Dev and Mithun Chakraborty for delivering such a spectacular performance.

When asked about the acting styles of Dev and Mithun, the excited filmmaker admits there’s so much to say. According to him, Dev is a natural actor and he portrayed the character with genuine emotions and feelings. The filmmaker recalled while shooting the monologue of Dev and Mamata Shankar which was about six minutes, tears started streaming down his cheeks. Avijit feels the way Dev was delivering his dialogues was phenomenal. At that moment he could feel what a powerful actor Dev is. The ‘Projapoti’ director believes since the actor is very close to his parents his character was so relatable. His personality added another angle to his character in the film along with his hard-working nature.

Sharing his thoughts on the legendary Mithun Chakraborty’s acting style Avijit adds Mithun’s eyes speak more than words and he has been Avijit’s idol and biggest inspiration to get into film-making. His name was first on the list of heroes he looked up to in his growing-up years.

‘Projapoti’, which released theatrically on December 23 last year, is a heartwarming family drama that tells the story of a father-son duo in an unabashedly melodramatic style.
