After receiving 28 laurels worldwide,

Arjun Chakrabarty

as

Apu

has been winning hearts of audiences all over Bengal. Here are some reactions of audience and a few renowned celebrities after seeing the film:

Prosenjit Chatterjee: It's beyond my expectation. Every department is so good. The narrative is so cinematic and visuals are excellent. Arjun is too good. Music, art and edit are also great. I want to specially mention the cinematographer.

Arindam Sil: The script is not pseudo-intellectually imposed. It's from the heart and very fluid. The credit must go to the director. The performance of Arjun Chakrabarty as Apu is commendable.

Tathagata Bandopadhyay (grandson of Bibhutibhushan Bandopadhyay): Director Subhrajit has made an ambitious film that remains true to Bibhutibhushan’s philosophy and isn’t afraid to invite comparison with Satyajit Ray. Cinematography and shot compositions are really nice.

Alokananda Roy: This film is different from what we get to see regularly. In black and white the film looks out of the world. The younger generation needs to watch films like these to understand what we Indians are capable of making.

Dr Sabyasachi Mitra: Some films reach your eyes, some reach your heart, some touch your consciousness. Avijatrik bathes your soul.
