Aschorjo Pradeep, Anik Dutta's next

Anik Dutta, the director who wowed paisa vasool audiences and critics alike with his tongue-in-cheek comic take on ghosts, Bhooter Bhobisyot, is ready to start shooting his next, Aschorjo Pradeep, from December 11 and plans to wrap it up by end January. The film stars Saswata Chatterjee, Rajatava Dutta, Sreelekha Mitra and Mumtaz Sorcar among others.
Aschorjo Pradeep has been adapted from a short story by well-known Bengali author Sirshendu Mukhopadhyay and is a take on the commercial and consumerist trends in society."The shooting plans have been finalized but I'm not yet sure when it will release. Some filmmakers and producers target certain slots, like Poila Boishakh or Durga Puja, but I really have no call on this. It is up to the producers to decide on this," said Anik.
Saswata plays a middle-class everyman and Rajatava is the genie who emerges out of the fabled magic lamp to change Saswata's life. You can expect Anik���s dry sense of humour and lots of laughs in the film. ���But there is a twist in the end and despite all the humour there is a comment on society. Mind you, as in Bhooter Bhobisyot, I���ve not made any value judgments about the way we live our lives,��� Anik signs off.
