Arunima Ghosh is on cloud nine. The actress is happy that after a long time she is part of a comedy film — this one titled Kirtan. The film is directed by Abhimanyu Mukherjee and stars Paran Bandopadhyay and Gourab Chatterjee in the lead. The story of the film revolves around the relationship between the daughter-in-law (Arunima) and father-in-law (Paran).
Kirtan will be shot in and around Kolkata from the first week of August.
“Of late, I have been part of thrillers and detective films. I am so happy that after ages, I am going to act in a comedy film which is my favourite genre. I also feel comedy is the toughest genre when it comes to performing. Making a person laugh is not easy and the comic timings of an actor play a major role. Paran Kaku's comic timing is brilliant and I am sure he will guide me during the shoot. Gourab plays my husband’s character in this film which deals with the love-hate relationship between daughter-in-law and father-in-law. The script is hilarious and I am sure the audience will be able to relate to the story. I play a girl who is married to a guy in north Kolkata and has a four-year-old kid. With Abhimanyu, this will be my first film. I loved his movie
Teko,” shared the actress, who is planning a vacation to Singapore in July.
The actress is also part of Arindam Sil’s film
Iskaboner Bibi where she’s paired opposite Parambrata Chatterjee. “We have only shot for five days, the rest of the shoot is still left to be completed,” said Arunima.
