Arunima Ghosh will be seen as the titular character, Lady Chatterjee. Debasish Mondal plays Abhijit, an inspector of Kolkata Police, Lal Bazar, who has a soft corner for Lady Chatterjee. Alivia Sarkar will be seen as Sourosheni, Lady Chatterjee’s sister who assists her in cases.

The film revolves around Jagyosheni Chatterjee (code name: Lady Chatterjee) who is a drug addict, a rough-behaved boho girl with a dark past, who works as a private detective (sometimes as an undercover agent) for the Kolkata Police Department just to earn money to buy drugs.

“This story deals with the murder mystery of a very old and big industrialist from the Mallik family of Kolkata. The owner of the salt industry Padmarani Mallik gets killed by his own son Indranath Mallik who allegedly killed her mother while sleepwalking. As Jagyosheni starts investigating, a number of dark truths of the old family start getting exposed. Will Jagyosheni be able to expose the real miscreant is what the film all about. It’s like a dream come true for me. Playing a detective has always been on my wish list. But I am not a conventional sleuth here. My character is a bit messy but a headstrong woman. It’s great to be a part of the film. I am sure the audience will like my new avatar,” shared Arunima.

The actress is also playing one of the leads in Abhimanyu Mukherjee’s rom-com ‘Kirtan’ which also has Paran Bandopadhyay and Gourab Chatterjee in key roles. She is also a part of Arindam Sil’s upcoming thriller ‘Iskaboner Bibi’.
