Arpita got back to the city from Bolpur on Friday. The actress was shooting there for Avijatrik - The Wanderlust of Apu. “On Saturday, I was busy with the preparations for
Lakshmi Puja, which we perform every year. Today, we have a Puja at home,” said the actress. She added, “I will leave for Arunachal Pradesh on October 16 and will be back on the 24th. I will be shooting for Shieladitya Moulik’s film along with Prantik Banerjee and Saheb Chatterjee.”
“The black-and-white period film, Avijatrik, takes forward from where Aparajito was left.
The film will now have Apu and his son scale new heights in their relationships as they embark on an adventure. I play Apu’s love interest, which was there in Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay's novel but not in Satyajit Ray’s film. Leela, the character I play in this film, is a brave and open-minded girl who is ahead of her time in her thoughts. The character has a lot of shades,” said Arpita. She added, “Shooting with Sabyasachi Chakraborty, Sreelekha Mitra, Ditipriya Roy and Sohag Sen is indeed fun.”
Arpita is also happy to be part of Shieladitya Moulik's film, which is a love triangle. "I loved the concept of the film as it shows the conflict of the heart and mind when one is in love. At times, the heart says something, but the mind wants something that is completely opposite,” said the actor.
In the film, Arpita plays a lecturer who has a loving husband. She meets with an accident and undergoes brain surgery. She forgets everything other than one phase of her life. “After the accident, she only remembers incidents from when she was a teenager. At that time, she was in a relationship and now she tries to find that man,” said Arpita.
