Arna Mukhopadhyay has worked with
Bratya Basu on stage previously. Now, the actor-director jodi is working together in Bratya’s upcoming film ‘Dictionary’. Besides Nusrat Jahan and
Abir Chatterjee Arna will also play a pivotal role. Bangladeshi actor
Mosharraf Karim and Poulomi Basu will also be seen in the film.
“I went through the script and it was really interesting. The first time I worked outside my own theatre group Natadha, I worked with Bratyada in Hemlat, The Prince Of Garanhata.
Last time I worked in Ekush Gram under his direction. Now I will work with him again in his film. Getting him as a director is an experience to cherish. I am really excited and looking forward to it,” said Arna.
This film also marks Bratya’s comeback as a director after his last outing ‘Tara’ in 2010. The relationship drama is based on Buddhadeb Guha’s two short stories ‘Baba Howa’ and ‘Swami Howa’. The film’s shoot was stalled when the corona crisis stalled every activity in the entertainment industry in mid-March.
Meanwhile, Bratya Basu will be seen in a pivotal role as an actor in Indranil Roychowdhury’s next film based on Shyamal Bandopadhyay’s story ‘Jatin Darogar Betanto’ where he plays Jatin Daroga. The film also stars Ritwick Chakraborty and Tuhina Das in the lead.
