His directorial debut ‘Abyakto’, a mother-son relationship drama starring Arpita Chatterjee, Adil Hussain and Anubhav Kanjilal, received critical acclaims. And now talented director

Arjunn Dutta

is all set for his third film ‘

Shrimati

’ while his second film ‘Guldasta’ awaiting an April release.

"In today's malevolent world, where the outer appearance means everything Shrimati falls prey to the cliched dilemma between a good personality and outward appearance. She becomes obsessed and in the process almost loses her mind and identity until the sudden realisation dawns upon her that irrespective of the way people think and the way the world goes, one should never forget the soul that dwells within," explains Arjunn while sharing the basic idea behind his upcoming film.

Featuring Swastika Mukherjee in the lead, ‘Shrimati’ is a sweet and charming family drama. Shrimati, an upper middle class, simple, fun-loving housewife, is a little disorganised but madly in love with her husband Anindya (

Soham

). Shrimati is also infatuated by all the glitz and glamour of elite society life and slowly losing her own identity.

Beside Swastika and Soham in the lead, the film also has Debjani Chatterjee as Pratima the mother-in-law, Trina Saha as Shrimati's sister-in-law Brishti and Kheya Chattopadhyay as the housemaid Kajol. Bollywood actor Barkha Bisht Sengupta, will be seen in a cameo role of Mallika in the film.

Soumya Rit is composing the music for ‘Shrimati’.
