Ever since he made his directorial debut Aritra Sen has been working on stories that are out-of-the-box yet all too relatable that can easily connect with the audience. His latest release ‘Ghore Pherar Gaan’ was an intense musical love story based in London and the film, starring Parambrata and Ishaa Saha in the lead, did receive critical acclaim. Now, Aritra has another interesting film in the lineup.
A source close to the film shares with ETimes, “While the shooting has already been wrapped up, this film titled ‘Prantik’ will focus on the subject of football betting. The cast is also interesting. We have Arjun Chakrabarty, Parambrata Chattopadhyay, and Ushashi Ray in important roles.”
Although the director and the cast is tight-lipped about the plot and storyline the source without revealing the main story gives us a brief idea about what to expect from the film, “It’s a story about a young lad who dreams of going abroad but due to family concerns and the recent demise of his father he is still stuck in his daily life. One day he meets a mysterious man who discovers a unique ability buried deep inside the boy. Interestingly, the young lad can predict the result of any football match. They both join hands and embark on a tricky journey as his hidden talent brings them good fortune with great business opportunity. However, soon things take a swift turn and the boy with this unique talent find himself in a dangerous trap. Will he be able to break loose? Will he find a way out? All these questions will be answered in the film.”
We hear Parambrata will be seen in a cameo and Arjun plays the young prodigy in the film which also stars Kaushik Sen, Anirban Chakraborti, Bidipta Chakraborty, Ridhima Ghosh and Sujay Prasad Chatterjee in key roles. The release date hasn’t yet been confirmed but the makers are planning to release ‘Prantik’ later this year.
