Koel Mallick has just returned to the shooting floor after a gap of two years. The actress has started shooting for Arindam Sil’s much-anticipated film ‘‘Jongole Mitin Mashi’. On Monday, Koel shot some important scenes at Alipore Central Jail Museum and she was visibly excited to return to shooting.
“We wish to make a wholesome family film yet the first Bengali film on Wildlife Conservation in its true sense.
So, need all your blessings and best wishes,” shares the director after the first day of the shoot. The detective thriller will release during Durga Puja this year four years after Arindam introduced Koel as the popular female detective character Mitin Mashi in the first film.
In the 2019 film, we got to see a female sleuth cum homemaker who solves mysteries with her sharp mind and unique observation skills. Now, finally, the film is coming out. It’s based on Suchitra Bhattacharya’s yet another popular story ‘Sharandar Shoytan’.
In the first film, the plot revolved around a private detective Pragya Paromita aka Mitin (Koel Mallick), who is appointed by a Parsi couple (played by
Vinay Pathak and
June Malia) when their eight-year-old son is kidnaped. This time Arindam and his team focus on a story that deals with wildlife conservation.
Koel Mallick was last seen in Parambrata Chattopadhyay’s 2021 film ‘Bony’. It will be exciting to see the actress returning to her favourite Mitin Mashi avatar.
