Aparna Sen unveils the trailer for Anirban Bhattacharya’s next

The trailer for Anirban Bhattacharya’s directorial feature film Ballabhpurer Roopkotha was recently unveiled amidst much fanfare. Aparna Sen, who worked with Bhattacharya in the 2019 film Ghawre Bairey Aaj, was present at the launch event.
“I have known Anirban for quite some time now and his uniqueness lies in his creativity. Like my films, it is seldom on the surface; it is only when you process it properly that you get the essence. My best wishes are with him and the team of Ballabhpur, a film which can encourage new artists, not just from the commercial front but also from the theatre circuit,” said Sen.
The film is based on Badal Sircar’s popular drama of the same name. It tells the story of a crumbling rajbari that has only two remaining dwellers – the last descendant of the Ray dynasty, Bhupati Ray, and his manservant Manohar. Struggling under a sea of debt, they attempt to sell off the property. What ensues is a series of hilarious events involving Bhupati, Manohar, the buyers and interestingly, one ghost!
