Anusha is looking forward to KIFF

Anusha Viswanathan is very excited about Anik Dutta’s Barunbabur Bondhu, which will be released at the

Kolkata International Film Festival

(KIFF). Talking about the film, Anusha said that even though she is playing a very small role, it was a great experience for her. “When Anik Dutta asked me about the film, I started jumping with joy. It has a big ensemble cast and the overall experience was very nice,” Anusha said. The film stars Soumitra Chatterjee, Madhabi Mukherjee, Arpita Chatterjee, Ritwick Chakraborty, Sreelekha Mitra and Bidipta Chakraborty, among others. Based on Ramapada Chowdhury’s story, it has a middle-class Bengali household as the backdrop.
Meanwhile, the actress is also working hard for Kheyali Dastidar’s upcoming play, Pratyusha, where she will be playing Mithua, one of the central characters. After her parents get separated, Mithua starts living with her father, which is played by Sabyasachi Chakraborty, in the US. She returns to Kolkata after many years with her father to trace her roots. “After coming back, she meets her elder brother, which is being played by Rahul Dev Bose. She also gets to meet her mother and the story continues. It is a very emotional and larger-than-life family drama,” Anusha told us.
Earlier, the drama was staged with Kheyali Dastidar playing the character of Mithua. However, this is the first time the play will be presented to the modern audience. “In that way, this is my first Bengali play too,” the actress said, adding that the play will be staged on November 23.
