The talented actress plays a worried mother Suma Chaudhary to a little girl Meethi in the film. “This is the first time I am playing a mother of a four-year-old girl. Sahidur Rahman plays my husband in the film. It’s a story of a family distressed by a spirit. When I heard the story it felt quite interesting. I am not a mother yet but I must say after playing a mother in this film I can confidently handle any kid. Initially it was difficult to understand how handle Vaishnavi our child artist’s mood. But then slowly I developed a great bonding with her and even she only used to listen to my words only on the sets. So, it’s a great experience,” said Anuradha while speaking about her character and the experience she had during the shoot of ‘Book of Azrael’.

The title seems quite interesting as Azrael is as the Angel of Death in Islam. Azrael is the one who meets you when you are on your deathbed, and he is the one who transforms your lively form into a body without a soul. Azrael also assists people who have lost their loved ones over the grief and pain that they are suffering.

Ilmaz Syed

who is the DOP and also producing the film under the banner of Ilmishka Duniya Cinemas (IMDC) said the film was supposed to be made in Bengali first but then after a lot of discussions they moved on with the Hindi

version. “It’s not a typical hard horror film. The story is about a young girl who is obsessed with a book. I won’t reveal much. The one liner is it’s a story of a family tormented by a book, more specifically an evil spirit. We have wrapped up the shoot in 10 days in and around Kolkata. Initially we had planned to make a Bengali film but after the script reading session and the final casting we thought why not make it in Hindi,” explained Ilmaz.

The horror-thriller is currently in post-production stage and the makers plan to send it to festivals across the globe.
