Another detective in Tollywood

Pratim D Gupta

’s Ahare Mon will be screened at a film festival soon. Taking to social media, the director announced, “Ahare Mon is showing, as part of the Hyderabad Bengali Film Festival, on Saturday 20th July at 1.15pm on Screen 1 at the LV Prasad Film Laboratory, Banjara Hills…” While Ahare Mon continues to make news, the director is ready with his next, which will release in August. The film is about how an ordinary man embarks on an extraordinary quest to find the truth behind superstar Nandita’s mysteries. The film was earlier titled Ink, based on the director’s Sundance Lab-selected script. He didn’t want the audience to be confused about whether it’s an English film or a Bengali film and changed the title. Pratim said he always loved thrillers and wanted to make one for a long time. The film features Ritwick Chakraborty as

Shantilal

and

Paoli

as

Nandita

. “Ritwick luckily hasn’t played a detective yet while all the other leading men have,” he had said before. Sharing a picture of her look from the film, Paoli wrote: “Welcome to the world of secrets and lies. Welcome to the world of #Shantilal O Projapoti Rohoshyo. The mystery unfolds this August..” Pratim, on his part, wrote: “The distance a goldfish swims is never controlled by the bowl it is in. Something Shantilal wants to apply in his quest for the truth.” The film also stars Goutam Ghose, Chitrangada Chakraborty and Ambarish Bhattacharya in important roles with a special cameo by Srijit Mukherji.
