Aniruddha to direct Dev and Rukmini

Aniruddha Roychowdhury, who made Buno Haansh with Dev in 2014, will soon be shooting a commercial with the star. The ad features Tollywood’s ‘it’ couple, Dev and Rukmini Maitra. “I have done a considerable amount of work with Dev, but this will be my first with Rukmini. The best part about Dev is his ‘earthy’ quality,” said the director, all praise for him. Aniruddha, who now shuffles his time between Mumbai and Kolkata, will be in town on Friday.Even though he is busy with work in Mumbai, the director said he watches as many contemporary films as his schedule permits.
“I have watched Nagarkirtan, Pupa, Manojder Adbhut Bari and am clued into the films happening in Bengal. But show timings of Bengali films releasing in Mumbai are such that I cannot always catch them. Given an opportunity, I would like to catch all Bengali films,” said the director, who has to his credit Bengali movies like Anuranan, Antaheen and Aparajita Tumi. A lover of Bengali cinema, Aniruddha said he revisited two classics in recent times. “I watched Aranyer Dinratri and Kal Tumi Aleya recently and every time I see them, it’s a whole new experience,” said the director, who is also hooked to movie streaming portals.
