Radhika Apte gets wishes and praises from Antaheen director Aniruddha

Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury can’t stop praising

birthday girl Radhika Apte

, who he worked with in the film, Antaheen. “I wish Radhika all the happiness in life. She is lovely to work with and is extremely well mannered. We had a lovely time shooting for

Antaheen

and we had a chat last week. We might work together again, fingers crossed. She is from a theatre background and needless to say, she is an effortless actor. As a director, what I like about Radhika is her timing — she knows where to pause, which is very important for any actor. She was not conversant in Bengali, but the way she used to go through the script to get the hang of it is praiseworthy. I wish to cast her again in my film in the near future,” Aniruddha said.
The director, who is busy shooting for ad campaigns in Mumbai, is dying to get back to Kolkata. “I am experiencing Kolkata deficiency in my blood! I need to be back in my city soon. As soon as the direct flights are on, I will fly back. I only wish that the theatres reopen soon and the audience get to experience cinema on the big screen again,” he said.

Aniruddha is set to direct a Bengali film next year and the script is ready. “The film is a thriller with an underlying love story. I’ve already had a word with

Jisshu U Sengupta

, Parambrata Chatterjee and Saswata Chatterjee for the male leads. The female lead is yet to be finalised. I want a new face for that character,” he said.
