‘The Eken – Ruddhaswas Rajasthan’ which recently completed 25 days at the box office has enjoyed a stellar run in theatres. Directed by Joydeep Mukherjee and starring the talented trio of Anirban Chakrabarti, Suhotra Mukhopadhyay and Somak Ghosh, alongside Sandipta Sen, this film has captured the hearts and imaginations of audiences, culminating in an impressive box office collection of over ₹3 crore in just 25 days.
To begin on an optimistic note for the Bengali film industry, the year also has brought good tidings as it has continued the streak of superhits around Poila Boishakh considering the success of ‘The Eken’ last year during the same time. Despite facing tough competition from ‘KGF2’, ‘The Eken’ - the first feature film with the Eken character on Big Screen - managed to emerge as a box office hit and performed exceptionally well in 2022.
Similarly, this year's release of ‘The Eken Ruddhaswas Rajasthan’ is also experiencing strong audience turnout and packed shows at theatres, even after three weeks since its release. It is indeed undeniable that the Bengali audience has shown their strong affinity towards "The Eken" and has expressed their love for it, especially during the Poila Boishakh season every year. It is worth noting that this year the popularity of "The Eken" has transcended national borders and has been received very well in both national and international markets.
Anirban Chakrabarti, has garnered immense acclaim, not only within the borders of Bengal but also from diverse corners of India, including the vibrant cities of Mumbai and Chennai, and also from International markets. Anirban Chakrabarti traveled to Mumbai and Chennai to personally meet his fans, and the response he received was beyond his expectations. He witnessed packed houses and huge crowds of fans gathering just to catch a glimpse of their favorite character in person. Anirban was literally swarmed by his admirers.
