Little did Anirban Bhattacharya imagine that his Tweet rectifying Kartik Aaryan’s mispronounced Bengali word in the recently released ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ will give him such a backlash on social media. While Kartik is receiving appreciation from all corners for his impressive performance in Anees Bazmee’s horror-comedy, Anirban tried to school him about a Bengali word in the film.

Anirban took to his Twitter handle to point out what Kartik pronounced wrong in ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’. In one of the scenes, Kartik pronounced the Bengali word ‘kaal’, which in English means ‘tomorrow’, as ‘kol’.

“Hello friend @TheAaryanKartik Congratulations for your new car/Chinese food table. Just remember 'tomorrow' is not 'kol' or 'call' in bangla. It's 'kaal' / কাল/ काल।” read Anirban’s tweet and it immediately grabbed everyone’s attention. People started trolling the actor-director for criticizing Kartik for such an unnecessary reason.

One user wrote, “Dear Anirban da! I have never imagined you will say this kind of stuff to a non Bengali actor, who was not even the writer or the director of the movie! He was totally dependable to his direct and do remember it was a comedy movie. In prakton Hindi language was spoken by.”

One fan questioned Abirban’s Hindi diction, “Anirban Sir apnar hindi tao kintu hindi movie te 100% sabolil noi. so appreciate who tried atleast.Bangali r kichu paruk na paruk pnpc ta always first.”

Another wrote, “is kartik bengali? - no did he write the script - no wasn't there any interpretor? - definitely yes but we will put every blame on Kartik instead, bcz he was the one to act in the film, despite finding out the correct pronunciation is not his job. keep going guys.”
