Anik Dutta ropes in Ritwick, Arpita Chatterjee in his next ‘Borunbabur Bondhu’

We already know Soumitra Chatterjee is on-board for Anik Dutta’s upcoming social drama which is based on a story by late writer Ramapada Chowdhury. Anik remains tight-lipped about the story only revealing the title of his film as ‘Borunbabur Bondhu’. He had previously brought Bengali literature to the big screen with his critically acclaimed ‘Ascharya Pradip’ which is based on Sirsendu Mukhopadhyay’s story.
Beside Soumitra Chatterjee in the lead, there are a lot of surprises in the remaining cast as well. This is the first time Ritwick Chakraborty will be working with Anik Dutta. Arpita Chatterjee and Bidipta Chakrabarty too will be seen in pivotal roles. But who is playing which character is still a mystery as Anik prefers not to reveal any more details right now. He has even changed the Title of the story. The film is believed to be the story of an old man who has become self-centered due to the degrading society surrounding him.
‘Borunbabur Bondhu’ will go on floors in January next year ahead of the release of his next ‘Bhobishyoter Bhoot’ in February. The film will be made under the banner of Surinder films which makes the equation even more interesting given the current scenario of the Bengali film industry.
