While Aneek Chaudhuri is busy with the post production of his next ‘Cactus’, here’s a good news for the extremely talented independent filmmaker. After creating waves in the international film circuit including Cannes last year, his last directorial ‘White’, a silent film on rape victims, has now been nominated for the Rome Independent Prisma Awards.

‘White’ narrates three stories about three women who’ve been raped. The first of the three stories is about a factory working girl raped inside her work premises but she managed to survive. The second one tells the story of a single mother who can’t face her own child after enduring a monstrous crime. The third story revolves around a raped married woman and her husband’s reactions towards her.

While, ‘White’s latest achievement is surely a pleasant surprise for Aneek, there’s one more good news. His another short film ‘A’ will make its world premiere in Portugal at Lisbon Rendezvous. ‘A’ tells the story of a Bahurupi and it is a silent film entailing his struggle to meet his ends.
