’, here’s
a
good news for the extremely talented independent filmmaker. After creating waves in the international film circuit including Cannes last year, his last directorial ‘
White
’, a
silent film
on rape victims, has now been nominated for the
Rome Independent Prisma Awards
.
‘White’ narrates three stories about three women who’ve been raped. The first of the three stories is about a factory working girl raped inside her work premises but she managed to survive. The second one tells the story of a single mother who can’t face her own child after enduring a monstrous crime. The third story revolves around a raped married woman and her husband’s reactions towards her.
While, ‘White’s latest achievement is surely a pleasant surprise for Aneek, there’s one more good news. His another short film ‘A’ will make its world premiere in Portugal at Lisbon Rendezvous. ‘A’ tells the story of a Bahurupi and it is a silent film entailing his struggle to meet his ends.
