’. Recently, Aneek wrapped up his abstract feature-length film ‘

!’; moreover, the filmmaker is now moving a bit away from alternative streams.

'The Last Apple' is the story of an Indian girl who finds herself trapped in Syria, being exposed to various atrocities and torment. The film stars Usha Banerjee as the protagonist.

Speaking about the film’s subject Aneek shares with Etimes: “Syria is yet again under the scanner of air-strikes and nothing improves for the nation, yet. Besides, I have come across some heinous incidents encountered by people of that region who are still living under the silhouette of terror. I had planned something two years back, but I could not feel that I was well-off to create something with conviction. Now, at this stage, I think I am quite prepared for it.”


The talented filmmaker adds on the female protagonist: “I came across Usha last year; although, there was no plan of casting her this soon, but I found her quite apt for my kind of

Cinema

, with time. Moreover, she is an educated actor who believes more in action than talks, and that is quite valid for me too. Now, I am strongly convinced that she can be a part of my other films, on a long-term basis.”

Syria has once again been serving as a hot-topic in World politics and as a filmmaker, Aneek Chaudhuri finds it a responsible thing to mark his statement through his medium. The film is going on floors this month.
