'Laptop' director insisted on not having any photos taken of actor Ananya Chatterjee when she shot a scene where she is shown ironing a kurta wearing just her undergarments Come this Friday and Kaushik Ganguly will be eagerly awaiting the feedback for his forthcoming Bengali film titled "Laptop". There is considerable buzz about the film since it involves an unconventional subject about a stolen laptop that changes hands between various people.
What's encouraging is that Kaushik has managed to explore the sexual tension in the curious relationship between a blind writer (Kaushik Ganguly himself) and his typist (Ananya Chatterjee) without incurring the wrath of the Censor Board.
Those who have watched the movie at festivals say that there is a scene where National Award winning actor Ananya Chatterjee is shown ironing her clothes while wearing her undergarments. "This is a very important scene in the film but it does not look vulgar. When Ananya's kurta gets stained, she decides to wash and then, iron it. While she is ironing her clothes wearing her basic necessities, my character enters the room," says Kaushik. However, the drama doesn't end there because Kaushik starts dictating an extract from his novel where he describes a woman's breast making Ananya feel shy because she realizes that his vision goes beyond the immediate.
Shooting for this scene required utmost privacy. "Ananya was very sporting. We did not take any stills of this scene. The film might have got U/A rating but that has nothing to do with this scene. The subject of the movie is the reason for this rating," the director signs off.
