Amrita is excited about her next film

Actress Amrita Chattopadhyay is unusually excited these days. And why not? After all, she’s gearing up for her upcoming Bengali film, Tushaghni, where she will be seen playing the role of a film star. The film is a thriller and revolves around a happy couple – a CBI officer, played by Arjun Chakraborty, and his wife (Amrita), who is a film actress.

Even though the couple does not get to spend much time together, they are in a happy marriage. Things, however, change with the different situations the couple faces. “This is a relationship tale, which is also a thriller,” said Amrita.

Besides Amrita and Arjun, Debesh Roychowdhury and Soma Chakraborty are also part of the film, which will mark Rana Banerjee’s debut as a director. Director Goutam Ghose has given the voiceover for the film.

The shoot of the film took place in and around Kolkata for almost 20 days and many scenes have the city’s greenery, especially of the suburbs, in the background. While the entire shoot was a fun-filled experience, Amrita particularly remembers one of the incidents. “There is a sequence in which one of the characters in the film is brandishing a gun to my head. And we used a real gun for that. It was our producers’ licenced weapon and he sent it to us for the shoot. At the middle of the shoot, we realised that he unknowingly sent us a loaded gun!” Amrita told us.
