Amartya Ray writes, composes his first Bengali song
Amartya Ray, who plays an important role in Amit Sharma’s Maidaan, was in Mumbai shooting for the last leg of the film, where he is playing a character based on Chuni Goswami. “I was at practice early morning when the decision to put shoot on hold was shared. I immediately flew back home before the lockdown”, said the actor.
He added, “I wrote my first Bengali song based on the current times called Ami Na Tumi.

I’ve composed and sung it as well. The song talks about our current mental space and the things we long for. Mom (Chaiti Ghoshal) and I have been shooting the video entirely at home.
Personalities like Rituparna Sengupta, Debleena Dutt, Sudiptaa Chakraborty, Tathaghata Mukherjee, Debesh Chattopadhyay, cricketer Sourashish Lahiri, a doctor from England, an ex-nurse and many others have sent me shots of them singing a line from my song, which I have compiled into a montage in the video. The song will release online in the next couple of days.”
