Alfonso Cuaron’s ‘Roma’ leaves Riddhi speechless

Alfonso Cuaron had taken World cinema by storm with his masterpiece ‘Roma’. The critically acclaimed filmmaker used both intimacy and monumentality to express the depths of ordinary life in this autobiographical movie set in Mexico City in the 70s. The film has floored Riddhi Sen as well.

“For me, Roma is the best film of Alfonso Cuaron (though the idea of ‘best’ is very subjective) period.He has cracked the right balance between a world of cinema that is either dominated with fast cuts, obsesses with speed, and believes in an audience-pleasing catalog or believes in meaningless self-indulgence, trying to satisfy the critiques and ignores the audience completely, he has brought a striking balance between cinematic time and space and real-time and space, he has exploited every single iota of the form called ‘cinema’ to tell a story which is extraordinary because of its simplicity, which holds a mirror in front of us to show us the beauty of the mundane, something we forget to recognize in our daily life, that life is finite,” shares an excited Riddhi.

The National Award-winning actor also tells why Cuaron is a true filmmaker. “With every single frame Alfonso Cuaron proves that he is not the director of this film, he is a true ‘filmmaker’. Alfonso Cuaron, Thank you for existing and thank you for making Roma,” added the ‘Nagarkirtan’ Actor who will next be seen in Indraadip Dasgupta’s ‘Bismillah’ and Kamaleswar Mukherjee’s ‘Antardhaan’.
