Agnidev to direct film on Noti Binodini

Agnidev Chatterjee is all set to direct a film on Bengal���s legendary theatre personality Noti Binodini.
Confirming the news, the director said, ���Noti Binodini is the most ambitious film that I have been wanting to make for years now. I had planned it even before Charuulata 2011 but somehow it never materialised.��� Set against the backdrop of the Great National Theatre, the film is an epic passionate retelling of Binodini���s life and her interactions with mentor Girish Chandra Ghosh.It revolves around her whirlwind affair with her unnamed lover, the elite patrons who walk through her life and Gurmukh Rai���s (a rich businessman) obsession for her ��� that led to the construction of Star Theatre, informed Agnidev.When we asked him why he chose to make this film, he said, ���She sacrificed her love for a greater love ��� theatre. Her life fascinates me.���
The casting of the film will begin once the script is locked. ���We would like to explore working with different actors in this film, perhaps people I���ve not had a chance to work with. Sudipa, who is penning the script, feels Mimi Chakraborty would be an ideal choice for Binodini and Shankar Chakraborty would look apt as Girish Ghosh,��� said the director.
