Adivi Sesh has issued a strong appeal to the Committee for Control and Supervision of Experiments on Animals (CCSEA), calling for immediate action against Palamur Biosciences, a testing and breeding facility accused of serious animal cruelty violations. The move follows a disturbing exposé by PETA India that revealed inhumane treatment of animals, including injured beagles, poisoned minipigs, and monkeys killed during experiments.
In a letter addressed to the CCSEA, Sesh urged the committee to revoke the facility’s license to breed or use animals and to initiate steps for the rehabilitation of surviving animals in sanctuaries or adoptive homes. “The world is moving away from the use of animals in experiments and toward modern non-animal means, and so must we,” the actor wrote.
The PETA India investigation, based on whistleblower reports, has sparked national outrage. Sesh’s intervention adds to growing public pressure on authorities to act against the facility and promote cruelty-free alternatives in scientific research.
“It breaks my heart to know that gentle beings like beagles and piglets are being tortured in labs. India must lead with compassion and conscience,” Sesh said in a statement.
The actor’s appeal aligns with a broader campaign led by PETA India, which is calling for criminal prosecution of those responsible, closure of the facility, and reforms in animal testing regulations.
Sesh joins a growing list of public figures advocating for animal rights and ethical treatment in research, adding his voice to an increasingly urgent conversation.
