Actress Sreelekha Mitra urged everyone to say #NoToCrackers this Diwali due to the immense harm it causes to the environment by emitting poisonous fumes. It also causes harm to the pets at home, stray
animals
and the birds around us. "I am a dog mother and I know how much trouble our
furry friends
go through due to the sound and
harmful smoke
produced by these crackers. Animals in our homes and on the streets get extremely
frightened
. Even the birds around us feel uncomfortable. I would urge everyone to say no to
crackers and celebrate this Diwali with
lights
and diyas," said the actress.
