Recently a Bangladeshi e-commerce platform got into trouble while a customer filed a case on charges of online fraud. Incidentally, director
Srijit Mukherji’s wife and popular Bangladeshi actress
Rafiath Rashid Mithila’s name also got involved along with another Sabnam Faria.
Now, in a big relief, the
Bangladesh High Court
has granted an 8-week anticipatory bail to Mithila and Faria after a lawyer on behalf of them had submitted the petitions at the High Court.
The fraud case was filed at the Dhanmondi Police Station in the city on December 4, and the customer accused nine people including Bangladeshi actors
Tahsan Khan
, Rafiath Rashid Mithila and
Shabnam Faria
of embezzling an amount of 31,800. Other accused in the case are the e-commerce platform’s managing director Mohammad Rassel and his wife Shamima Nasrin.
While Tahsan and Mithila were brand ambassadors of the e-commerce platform Shabnam Faria used to work as the head of public relations.
After receiving the anticipatory bail, Mithila insisted that the case filed against her had no base and that’s why the court has given her the bail. The actress also said that she has her faith in the judiciary system and hopes that artists won’t face such harassment in future.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Mithila will soon be seen in
Raajhorshee Dey
’s film ‘Maya’.
